This wonderful shell motif was popular for a period in the 1930s as if represented modern luxury and the nod to the love of all things natural, travel and escape. This is only the third ring featuring some type of shell I have been lucky enough to find in over 20 years of collecting .The two others featured shells on the shoulder however the entire design of this late Art deco ring is that of a shell opening to reveal it's treasure within. Instead of the feminine form standing within this beautiful ring we see this bright teal blue parti sapphire revealed! I cannot express how beautiful this piece is on the finger the lower profile and the details are just everything I look for. This ring originally featured a damaged pink glass common for the era but having this link to the ocean made it an easy switch to this stunning natural teal sapphire from Montana. It is hallmarked 10k Crosby which was an American company active in the 1930 & 1940s so an American sapphire was the perfect fit. Good condition with light wear to ring.
