Let's meet this new distinguished gentleman I found shall we? What a piece, it has everything I look for, incredible hand detailed shoulders, fabulous patina and an intaglio centurion. Did I leave anything out? The more I looked at this piece the more I fall in love! Those shoulders look to be thistles which is often a personalized touch and a nod to Scottish heritage! The centurion is another favourite subject of mine which was revived in the Victorian & Art Deco periods as a nod to classical Roman history! Heavy rosey 9ct gold that is the perfect match to balance the cool blue of this spinel. This piece has been loved and there is wear to the intaglio but still so much to be enjoyed
