What a marvelous find this intricate brutalist piece was! Fabulous c1970s design with beautiful handmade bars of white and yellow gold! Each bar has a bark textured top and has been carefully stacked to create this textured structure! This style was popular in the late 1970s after the design movement influenced by architecture in the 1950s, we saw a movement toward raw materials, texture and bold structures. We saw this design in jewellery spearheaded by the likes of Andrew Grima and his masterful works (see last pictures).
This piece features three emeralds (likely synthetic) and white diamonds set up high in such a wonderful balanced layout. It is a feast for the eyes and would probably double as a self defence accessory too! 😉
