This exquisite and impressive ring features a beautifully hand reverse carved carnelian intaglio with so much wonderful history. The intricate gothic lettering looks to be I W then you can see a belt circling the initials. This motif likely symbolises loyalty, strength, protection and sometimes eternity and was a popular design used in the Georgian period and were often used in heraldry.
