This is the perfect mid century piece with the early texture we saw introduced to jewellery design in the 1970s. This dome or bomb shape was another favourite from the 60s and is just so fun and space-aged with a bit of a nod to the comet with its shape and the move towards texture in the 70s! Made of 9ct yellow gold in a woven or braided pattern she is so tactile under the finger. The dome is topped with a bright and light Australian parti sapphire from my personal collection as the synthetic sapphire in it was quite worn. This sapphire has such luminous yellow and green colour zoning. It is surrounded by a halo of white fluorites to mimic diamonds in a claw flower setting of white gold. Just a great find and so much fun! Light wear to gold and flurotites inline with age.
