This fabulous mid century topaz ring holds so much history! Like Russian pieces of this period, rings of Polish origin often have the hallmarks on the outside of the band this is in contrast to ring hallmarked on the inside of the band in countries like UK, US, Australia etc. This piece is made of rich rosey 14ct gold with hallmarks of the helmeted Polish knights head / W / 3. These inclusive hallmarks tell us it is Gold 14ct made in Warsaw 1963-1986 . The golden topaz looks so beautiful against the warm rosey gold, it previously housed a worn synthetic blue spinel but I felt it needed a natural gemstone. I particularly love the chased floral or wheat details in each shoulder panel and the geometric angles of the ring itsself. Slight wear to gold but in good condition and natural inclusions to topaz.
