Wow! This lavender kunzite is a dream colour with such vibrancy but so calming aswell! The open almost freeform rose gold setting allows every side of this huge 17cts kunzite to be viewed and enjoyed! This setting is hallmarked on the outside of the band which is mostly found on Eastern European pieces. The hallmarks are (3 FI⭐) so seeing a star led me to deduce this was likely Russian and in the style of the 1970s. So after consulting my books (my favourite part) I can confirm this ring is made in 1973 by maker with initials F.I I also confirmed the single star mark was used from 1958 to 1994 so that also fits our date range. I adore the rosey gold colour often used in Russian jewellery through this period and it really looks beautiful with pink or lilac gems like this kunzite. Light wear to gold and kunzite. Please note kunzsite can fade if worn in direct light too often. It is sometimes referred to as the evening stone for this reason. Acid tested for 14ct minimum.
