Big blue Australian sapphire with a depth of colour that is absolutely superb! Bright electric blues and deep midnight blues flash across this beauty with her sleek rectangular cut! This sapphire was one of the only rectangular cut pieces in a collection I acquired from an old school 1970s Qld sapphire miner. Johnny mined his claim for most of his life and also hand cut every piece he found. This is a slice of our country's mining history! Such an architectural ring full of presence with those wide shoulders, scooped head and the way the sapphire is set high. I knew she would be the perfect setting to bring this sapphire into the world! Light wear to gold some scratches and some pitting on the shoulder please see pictures
